Day 12 of Half Marathon Training: Feeling OK
So today I was supposed to go on a 5 mile run, and it didn’t go so well. I had a bad asthma attack after 1 mile and it really really discouraged me. I was so frustrated because asthma has stopped me from doing a lot of things my entire life. I wanted to cry because I was so frustrated. I ended up walking for awhile, but ended up running again. I ran 4 miles total, but walked a lot in between. I think that I need to realize that it’s ok and that asthma isn’t in my control. It just brings me down a lot.
And I was talking to someone who is a huge runner, and she says that it is totally fine to walk in between. It only makes you that much stronger. And I should be proud of myself anyways, even with breathing not so great, I was still able to run 4 miles.
I need to remember to not let things that are out of my control bring me down.
Day 9: Feeling Fantastic
I hope whoever is reading this is proud! I went on a 4-mile run today, and I also ran my fastest 5K today! It was 39”12!! Which might not be super fast to many people, but that is definitely the fastest for me :) I feel so great and feel so healthy and light. THIS is the reason why I run. I just need to remember this when I’m like my last post and don’t remember why I even run in the first place haha :)
7:31am and I don’t want to run
But I know it’ll make me feel better. And it’ll make me stronger. And I’ll be happier. Ahhhhhhh
So it is day 7 of training for my half marathon! To be honest, last week wasn’t that great. I feel like I should’ve allowed myself at least a week to recover from my 10K, so I wasn’t as active as I would have liked. I only ran 1 time last week, but this week I know I will be better!
Here’s what I’ve already done so far:
Sunday, 02/16: 3 mile run + Yoga
Tuesday, 02/18: 3 mile run
Today’s run was pretty good! When I first woke up at 7am, I definitely did not want to run, but I am glad I pushed myself to get up. Even during the run, I was struggling a little bit, but once I finished, I was SO happy and was also reminded of how much I actually do like to run, even though I don’t always think so. SO glad I don’t have to worry about working out for the rest of today!
My breakfast! Egg whites with ground turkey, bell peppers, mushrooms, with steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.
